Anne Challis Cottages

A very warm welcome from the Challis fammily and a further welcome to our beautiful Nidderdale Countryside. We are very proud of our cottage. It is situated in an outstanding position at the head of the Nidderdale and is a spotlessly clean, warm, and cosy cottage.

With views from every window, and plenty of opportunity to eat well, Kirklea Cottage makes a peaceful place in which to relax and a great base for exploring the Dales by car, bike or foot. (See our local info page)

Kirklea Cottage
Kirklea is an outstanding property. Nestling on the side of the Nidderdale Fells, on a working farm, this detached bungalow has been recently re-decorated, equipped to a high standard and is superbly furnished. Enjoy a relaxing and restful holiday at the cottage, making the most of the inspiring views of Nidderdale (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and its villages from the conservatory and the front patio.

The cottage is ideally placed for exploring Nidderdale on foot with various walks from the door step, or tour this "Little Switzerland' by bicycle or car. The nearby villages of Middlesmoor and Lofthouse offer a shop and two pubs, whilst Pateley Bridge (7 miles) offers a wide selection of shopping and amenities. Ripon (15 miles) and Harrogate (20 miles) are also easily accessible. How Stean Gorge, a spectacular limestone gorge almost 70ft deep, is within walking distance, and is also home to an excellent restaurant.
